Urban Spam, by Russell Davies

Russell Davies has a long and interesting about Urban Spam - guerrilla marketing, advertising, cleanvertising, ambient, alternative etc etc. Part of the problem lies with the lack of permission people give to the advertiser (an ad in Corontation Street seems ok because we’ve accepted it as the price to pay for the enjoyable experience etc) and part of it with lazy and crap design (another fucking free tshirt with your shitty logo? Oh gee. Thanks)

It’s a long, but typically insightful piece from Mr Davies. Worth a look-see.

The image above, is an interesting example of really powerful Urban Spam though, not a negative one. Think about the effect it has on everyone that sees it. Imagine if he drove near a Fiat dealership! It’s from Noisy Decent Graphics
