Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes

Jon Ronson spent 5 years going to Stanley Kubrick’s home to read the content of the boxes the film-maker left throughout the buildings there. Ronson admits that he was looking for Kubrick’s ‘Rosebud’ in the boxes that contain correspondence, photo research, his films’ ads, his daughter’s on-set films and more – and he points to a few lines in an acceptance speech where he thinks he has found it.

Ronson asks: is it possible to get to understand such a man – and his extraordinary working methods – by looking through the hundreds of boxes he left behind?
