Hip Hop and Chess

Ruby Pseudo links to an interesting article about the relationship between hip hop and chess, and how it’s being touted as a way top keep the kids out of gang violence and all that. “The Hip-Hop Chess Federation uses beats and a board game more associated with tweedy privilege to win hearts and minds”.

Check Ruby’s thoughts here (we’ve recently become friends on Facebook, so it’s all good) and the article by Jonathan Leggett at the Guardian.

And here’s Ghostface’s Daytona 500… a fine tune, but relevant too as Speed Racer’s just been released in the cinema.
