Gucci‘s taking a new direction in their marketing it seems – having used David Lynch to direct their first of the new campaign, they’ve now employed Chris Cunningham. Good moves too in my opinion – whether because there’s now a story behind what would otherwise be (yet another)vaccuous perfume ad – applying the marketing model of giving fans deeper engagement – or because, simply, after Tom Ford left the brand had become rather dull. Great use of music too.
BTW is anyone following @David_Lynch on Twitter? Utterly banal weather reports and travel updates but somehow very, well, Lynchian.
