<p>The US Library of Congress is collecting colour photographs on Flickr that show the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/sets/72157603671370361/">1930s &#8211; 1940s in colour</a>. A period usually only seen in black and white, these images are filled with intriguing, haunting subjects.</p>
<p>Nice to see library services using crowds to source information and collect archives together that they might otherwise not have been able to.</p>

Illustrating a story written by Joe Dunthorne with photographs, teams of 2-4 people weave their way around London following their own creativity to represent each word or phrase.</div>

It&#8217;s the lights glowing through the clouds that make this a particularly eerie and magical piece of footage.</p>
<p>Technique: 1600iso; beginning &#8211; 1 (30sec) exposure / 45secs, end &#8211; 1 (4sec) exposure / 10 secs; total elapsed time: around 3 hours?</p>
