by marc newson for nike. see the technology has filtered down into the rejuven8, which look cool - i need some new running shoes, this could be a winner… prefer the colours to the black though… so i look like i’m out for a ‘run’ rather than running from the scene of a crime…

nice colours! you can now shake the ipod to shuffle it, and tilt to use cover flow. cool! watch the ad

off to get one…

It’s funny, cos it’s true. Obama may be everywhere and that might be a bad thing in terms of saturation, voters not really understanding his policies, getting tired of him/his image… but I beg anyone who can to vote for him or else this woman will have a serious chance of becoming President of the United States of America, by default (McCain is 72 and may not make a potentially 8 years in government).

These vertical wall gardens are cropping up around the blogs, so I thought it would be good to add them to TheScrapBook.

Check more out on Michael Hellegren’s site

Insa x Rousseau chair is talk of the blogs at the moment. Easy to see why!

Do we actually read marketing or brand messages, or do we only take in the visual logo? With thousands of messages thrown at us each day, it’s an interesting thought.

Worldmapper

Worldmapper gives us a different perspective on the world. The above image depicts countries in sizes according to their religion, but explore all their categories, from population, disease, destruction, to import and exports.

I’ve had these great examples of interactive art and building projections in my head for a while now, but thought I should share them with TheScrapBook!

The Graffiti Research Lab is an awesome project, not in the least for their two great inventions - Throwies and Laser Tag.

Christopher Baker is perhaps less activist, but no less interesting, thanks to his work shown at AIGA. The interactive wall with texts is stunning. Check out the video here

TXTual Healing is a great project too that asks for interaction via text message that allows you to wear your heart on someone else’s sleeve… well, building really… Below is a video about Street Crime they did in London

Shadow Monsters is another favourite of mine, created by Philip Worthington, from the Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition at MOMA in NYC. April 2008

Philip Worthington, by the way, is a genius. Check out his Line Riders idea.

DesignBoom has a nice article about the design and evolution of the #1 Foam Hand, made by Geral Fauss, one of the most popular pieces of US sports merchandising.

‘I saw the students in the stands holding up an index finger, and shouting ‘we’re number 1′ at the playoff games… Students rallied around the team and kept a fevered pitch during the playoffs. I knew that they wanted something ‘big’ to show their spirit…..so I thought , why not a large hand sign.’

Genius. Read the full article here or visit Spirit Industries, Geral’s company.

i’m a big fan of toy cameras, and this new one performs well outside its price bracket and has bags of character… got it in the post today for £4.99, that’s a ridiculous eBay bargain!!!:

 vivitar

You may remember the Lomo Diana which was posted about a couple of times:
