Nokia have created limited edition Bruce Lee phones, and are advertising with a couple of great videos – Bruce Lee lighting matches with nunchucks, and then playing Ping Pong.
In advertising, everyone jumps on a creative bandwagon once they see a certain amount of success. Whether it’s Sky, Orange, Sony Centre, and more replicating the idea of a large empty room to shoot their ads in, or the current favourites of seemingly impossible “tricks”.
Mainly coming from Nike (Ronaldo vs Bugatti, Kobe vs Aston Martin, Ronaldinho vs Cross Bar), but also Levi’s (flip, and that stupid bouncing one), Ray Ban’s Never Hide campaign (sunglasses face catch), and now Nokia getting in on the act. Is it better or worse that Nokia are not pretending to have made anything other than an ad – albeit an entertaining one? At least they’re entertaining people first before pushing the message on to them. A fairer trade for my time I guess.
