Art, Design, Architecture and Technology – New Blogs!

Just been introduced by Culture Pundits to a bunch of new blogs. It’s always such a pleasure to discover a whole new collection of sites you never even thought existed. I’m yet to pass actual judgement, but any of the really good ones will go on to the blogroll.

In the meantime, please pass judgement – and comment here – on the following sites:

Rhizome - Potentially really interesting one, this. Looking at the “creation, presentation, preservation, and critique of emerging artistic practices that engage technology”.  It’s related to The New Museum in NYC, so there’s a bias to New York, but hey, it’s an international scene!

Art Rabbit is a kind of art gallery aggregator with upcoming shows and listings. It’s similar to Fad Website which also covers contemporary art news, street art, video, design, etc. Beautiful/Decay is a good shout for contemporary, emerging and established artists acting as a good source that reveals today’s most influential and innovative talents from the creative world.

Ivy Paris News - which for a long time I thought was “My Paris News” but that’s my bad reading – is (mainly) a guide to the Parisian art scene. If you’re not in paris, try Art-Signal for Barcelona based art shenanigans. Or, for our New York readers, try ArtCal, the self-professed “opinionated guide to New York art galleries” – though to be honest, I believe that And I Am Not Lying might be more suitable to readers of TheScrapBook – it’s more…edgy.

Watercooler Games is a site about games that go beyond entertainment. Water Cooler Games explores the emerging field of games want to do more than simply being fun: they want to make a point, share knowledge, change opinions.  Sounds a bit like Auditorium or Music Catch could fit right in there.

ArchitectureMNP - part of the strangely yet awesomely named “My Ninja Please” network – aims to bring readers a regular supply of “architecture and design from around the web showcasing all of the illest, most interesting, and craziest architecture that these ninjas can find”.
